During the 2006-07 season the Islanders picked up career win number 100 vs. the Devils during a 5-2 victory on 11/2/06 at New Jersey, marking the first time the franchise has ever won 100 games vs. another organization. The Orange and Blue have an overall record of 102-59-22-4 against New Jersey, eight more wins than the 94 compiled against the cross-town rival New York Rangers.   • From 1974-75 through the 1983-84 season the Islanders did not lose a single home game at the Coliseum to the Devils.  The Islanders sported a 23-0-1 record during the 10-year span on their home ice.
  • The Islanders were 2-5-1 in 2006-07 vs. the Devils, but had a record of 6-1-1 during the 2005-06 season and are currently 1-0-0 against New Jersey in 2007-08
  • The newest Islanders’ captain, Bill Guerin, spent seven seasons with New Jersey from 1992-93 through 1997-98, recording 108 goals and 106 assists in 380 games.
  • Goalie Rick DiPietro recorded his 50th career NHL victory on March 7, 2006 vs. New Jersey by the score of 2-1. DiPietro stopped 30-of-31 shots for the victory.
  • Trent Hunter tallied his 100th career NHL point on January 4, 2007 at New Jersey by recording a goal and an assist during a 4-3 Islander loss.
  • The last time the Islanders did not receive a penalty in a game came back on January 29, 2002 vs. the Devils. The Islanders came out on the losing end by a score of 3-1.
  • Even though they are local rivals and have played 187 times through the years, the Islanders and Devils have only squared off once in the postseason. The Devils defeated the Islanders 4-2 during the Patrick Division Semi-Finals in 1988.
