Snow and Nolan Discuss Their Plans

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

The New York Islanders are already gearing up for the 2008-09 season and beyond – and they're letting fans in on their plans.

On Wednesday, April 16 from 7-9 pm at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Islanders are hosting an Open House and Chalk Talk. Fans can tour the Islanders locker room, learn all about Islanders season ticket plans with a chance to see first hand what seats are available for you, meet Hockey Hall of Famer and Islanders Business Club executive director Mike Bossy and take part in the Islanders Fan Fest.

Perhaps best of all, at 7:45 pm Islanders fans will hear from GM Garth Snow and head coach Ted Nolan on the direction of the team.

"This is the first opportunity of the off-season for Islanders fans to hear about our plan,” said Islanders Senior VP of Sales, Marketing and Operations Chris Dey, who will also be part of the event. “Our fans support us with everything they have; they just want to know what direction we are going. Garth will detail his plan to make our team a consistent contender. Ted will share his insights on team chemistry and how he always gets the most out of his teams. People can tell you a lot about what they are going to do, but you can generally see it in their eyes if they have the passion, desire and commitment to make it happen. We need to be available to our fans at events like this on next Wednesday so they can see it in our eyes.”

Besides their opening discussions, Snow and Nolan will take questions submitted by fans via Fans: here's your chance to ask all of your tough questions for the GM and Coach.
