Despite schools having off on Veteran’s Day on Wednesday, the “We’re All Islanders” school assembly program was still able to educate the minds of more than 2,700 students at schools across Long Island. On Monday and Tuesday, Dina and Sparky were in Hempstead, visiting their friends at Franklin Street Elementary and Jackson Main Elementary. This completed their visit to each elementary school in the Hempstead School District! After a day off on Wednesday, the duo headed east to Lake Ronkonkoma on Thursday morning where they visited the children of Gatelot Elementary. The school was amazing in showing their Islanders pride, with many of the children and staff wearing their Islanders apparel in support of the assembly. The final stop of the week was at PS 260 in Brooklyn. This assembly was unique because it marked the first time the “We’re All Islanders” school assembly was held in Brooklyn. The students were great as they cheered and laughed through out the fun filled assembly.
