The Islanders Family Fan Fest was on hand for Robbie's Run, a race held at Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary in Merrick in memoriam for young Robbie Levine. Robbie was a healthy 4th grader, who after a baseball practice, collapsed on the field and passed away when no defibrillator was available to revive him.  The Robbie Levine Foundation will work to increase awareness of the need for and importance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in saving lives, particularly in youth athletics and advance Robbie's love of sports and giving nature by supporting youth sports programs. On hand for the run was Sparky and the Islanders Slap Shot Booth. The children at the event had a blast taking chances at scoring goals at the slap shot booth while being able to walk away with some great prizes. Sparky was on hand to support the children's “Fun Run” portion of the event, where along with his friends Mr. Met and QuakerJack, he greeted all the young runners as they ended their race with a lap around the infield for Robbie. The event was great fun and for an even better cause. To learn more about the Robbie Levin Foundation, visit them on the web at
