Despite the heavy rain Friday morning, it was not enough to stop Kyle Okposo
leading the Islanders I.C.E. Tour into Roslyn to meet the children of Shibley Day Camp. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Okposo had over 350 children stop by and he made a point of signing a picture for each and every one of them. Sparky the Dragon also made the trip, handing out prizes to all the kids after they received the Islander forward’s autograph. Okposo was treated to seeing the camp’s biggest trophy, the Goose Cup, which is the camp’s equivalent to the Stanley Cup.
“It’s awesome to see how many Islanders fans this camp has. It’s great to see them all sporting their Islanders gear in the middle of the summer. Along with me, we cannot wait to begin Training Camp and start the new season.”
