Owner Charles Wang, Kevin Connolly, Christie Brinkley, Bossy, Trottier and other Islanders players meet and greet with sponsors and suite holders

Saturday evening was a glorious start to the new Islanders Business Club. Designed to enhance the relationships between the Islanders" sponsors and suite holders, the IBC kicked off its campaign with a fashionable party outside of the Nassau Coliseum, prior to the drop of the puck.

Owner Charles Wang, Christie Brinkley and "Entourage" star Kevin Connolly were in attendance to introduce members of the IBC to one another and help launch the season in style.

While it was certainly a treat for the sponsors and suite holders to rub elbows with the celebrities in the crowd, the night focused on the business side of things.

"I"ve always been an Islanders fan," said Glenn Mehl, a financial representative at Forest Hill Financial Group. "The Islanders Business Club is really good way to network. Events like these are phenomenal because it gives you the opportunity to meet people and get your name out there.

Islanders Business Club Executive Director Mike Bossy, former linemate Bryan Trottier, Chris Simon, Steve Webb and Eric Cairns were also on hand at the star-studded kick-off party.

The sponsors and suite holders that visited the finely catered tent were treated to a delicious array of delectables and refreshments, while mingling with their colleagues.

"We have a great relationship with Islanders because we"re also the physical therapists for them," said Paul Fick of Professional Physical Therapy. "You"re automatically accepted into the community and gain notoriety when you"re affiliated with the Islanders. It"s fun to network and be around all the people we"ve been working with all year like Mike Bossy."

Tonight was just the first of many events scheduled to take place throughout the season.

"This was a great start to the Business Club," said Bossy. "It was only the beginning, but it was a successful evening for everyone involved.
