NEWS, NOTES AND QUOTES

Final Regular Season Game:
While the Islanders will play at least two more games at Nassau Coliseum, several players took the time to reflect on the old barn.

Jack Capuano:
It’s the history. I coached the last game in the [Philadelphia] Spectrum and I sat in that coach’s office and thought about all of the tremendous coaches and players that were in that room. Tonight’s no different. You think about Al Arbour and the previous guys what they’ve done here, the players. It’s a special moment for everybody.

John Tavares: It’s been special. It’s truly unique in its own way. It’s a true barn and people really make this place special.

Playoffs here were pretty special, my first game as well. The first time seeing it full, first time playing here, there are obviously a lot of firsts for me. It’s just been home for six years. When it’s full and we’re playing well, there’s no atmosphere like it. It’s great, it’s been a lot of fun and we want to continue as long as we can.

Home Ice Up for Grabs – per Eric Hornick
Washington hosts the Rangers at 12:30, while the Isles host Columbus at 7:00
•         If Caps beat Rangers, Caps clinch home ice.
•         If Caps get 1 point, Isles need a ROW for home-ice
•         If Caps lose in regulation, Isles need a win in any fashion for home ice.

The Islanders are 2-0-1 against the Blue Jackets this season.

Red-Hot Blue Jackets:
