No major lineup changes for either team from Game 2. Lines are posted below.

I've been to all kinds of sporting events all over this continent, but the goosebumps are hitting pretty hard already, and the puck hasn't dropped yet. The way things are going, the Coliseum might not have a roof for much longer. The first hockey game I ever saw in my life was in this building, and it was an Isles-Pens playoff game. Lots of fans here feeling similar things. It's great to have playoff hockey back in this barn.

1st Period
1:43: Islanders bang away and get one early - 1-0. Loudest this building has been in a while. It’s going to go to Matt Moulson after Kyle Okposo had a couple whacks at it. Lubomir Visnovsky gets the secondary. Shots are 4-1 in favor of the Islanders early.

2:23: Matt Cooke takes a slashing minor, and the Isles are headed to the man advantage. They’re 1-for-8 in the series.

4:23: Cooke sprints out of the box to join the play just as Okposo deflects a point shot wide.

5:41: One-timer by Casey Cizikas makes it 2-0. Beauty. Isles dumped the puck in, and Michael Grabner made a great pass from behind the Pittsburgh net. Cizikas had a great look and put it top shelf over Marc-Andre Fleury.

7:58: Tanner Glass gets penalized for hi-sticking. NYI going to second power play of the afternoon. Shots: NYI 7 PIT 3.

12:21: Islanders pnealty box opens, and Mark Streit steps in. Hooking is the crime.

12:54: Tripping is being called on Travis Hamonic after the d-man grabbed Jarome Iginla's shoulder, and this isn't a popular one in the building.

13:18: Kris Letang fires one from the right side, and it’s 2-1. Back to 5-on-4 play. Assist to Sidney Crosby. Now they're giving the goal to Iginla, who must have gotten a piece on the way in.

13:37: 19 seconds later, we’re back to even strength. This game is tied, 2-2. Long pass up ice from Evgeni Malkin to Chris Kunitz, who got through the defense, and wristed one short side past Evgeni Nabokov.

2nd Period
6:03: Nice chance created by Colin McDonald to the stick of Grabner, but Fleury gets an arm on it, keeping the puck out.

8:28: Great backhand chance by Frans Nielsen after a centering pass from Moulson. Still 3-2. Shots: NYI 19 PIT 13.

9:20: Matt Cooke is not making any new fans around Long Island. Hard, high hit on Keith Aucoin will earn him two minutes in the box for roughing. Matt Carkner will also go serve a bench minor for interference. The two are chirping at each other from the boxes. This could be fun when they both get out in a couple minutes.

13:10: Corwd rejuvenated after a couple of hard hits by Hamonic on Malkin in the Islanders zone. It's getting a little heated again between the two sides.

13:47: Islanders call time out after an icing.

17:10: Pens take the line during a bad Islanders line change, and Doug Murray puts one top shelf to double the Penguins lead to 4-2. Malkin found Murray wide open across the zone. Paul Martin with the second helper.

End 2nd: PIT 4 NYI 2. Shots: NYI 16 NYI 21.

3rd Period
3:50: Well, here we go. Big PK upcoming for the Isles, as Brian Strait gets called for hooking. PIT is 2-for-3 on the PP today.

5:31: Oh wow. What a highlight-reel goal by Kyle Okposo. Shorthanded. And the crowd goes wild. Pass from the boards by Nielsen met Okposo at the Pittsburgh blue line, where he had to spin to corral the puck and keep himself onside. With the defenders behind him, Okposo wristed one past Fleury to make it 4-3.

7:38: Great job by Fleury to cover up a chance in front by Nielsen. Fireworks follow the play, as the Isles center was in the middle of some extra-cirriculars following the whistle.

10:48: John Tavares ties the score on a transition play. Wrist shot from the right circle, while he had Bailey to the left as a passing option. 4-4. First of what should be many career playoff goals for Tavares.

11:19: Isles going to a power play. Iginla off for tripping.

18:19: Murray's shot from the left goes off the bar. Still tied. Shots: NYI 33 PIT 19 (12-3 Islanders this period).

End 3rd: Fans are getting more than they paid for. Overtime awaits. NYI 4 PIT 4. Shots: NYI 34 PIT 19.

5:26: Lots of good pressure from the Islanders, including a shot from Aucoin that Fleury had to drop down to stop.

8:11: Strait called for holding.
