Lineup Notes/Changes:
Josh Bailey draws back into the lineup after sitting out Friday's game and is slotted in on the second line. Peter Regin is also back in tonight for the Islanders while Brock Nelson is out.

Bridgeport call-up Calvin de Haan makes his season debut tonight. de Haan is in for Radek Martinek and head coach Jack Capuano said he's leaning towards pairing de Haan with Thomas Hickey.

Nilsson Starts: Anders Nilsson makes his first start for the Islanders since Mar. 10, 2012, a 2-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The Swedish goaltender appeared in one game this season for the Islanders, stopping 12-of-13 shots in a relief effort Nov. 23 against Philadelphia.

Isles Starters: Grabner-Nielsen-Bailey, Hickey-de Haan, Nilsson.
Caps Starters: Fehr-Grabovski-Brouwer, Schmidt-Carlson, Holtby

1st Period:
5:00: No score. Shots are 1-0 Capitals, Colin McDonald's shot has not found the scoreboard yet.

10:00: No score. Shots are 5-1 Islanders, but hard to trust the shotclock.

15:00: No score of penalties to report. Shots are 9-6 Islanders.

END OF PERIOD: No score. No penalties. Shots are 15-9 Isles.

2nd Period:
7:18: Caps hold a 4-1 shot advantage in the second period. Still no score or penalties to report.

8:58: WSH goal. Aaron Volpatti bangs away at the puck in a scramble and puts the Caps on the board. 1-0 Capitals.

9:54: Islanders top line answers back with a chance, but Tavares finds Holtby's glove.

11:13: NYI PP (Jay Beagle - Two Minutes Hooking) Beagle hooks Grabner on a partial breakaway. He stops a scoring chance, but gives the Isles the first power play of the game.

13:13: Beagle steps out of the box as the Caps kill it off. Kyle Okposo had a AAA chance, but just puts the puck through the crease. Still 1-0 Caps.

END OF PERIOD: Isles trail 1-0. Shots are 27-19 Isles.

3rd Period:
2:10: WSH PP (Pierre-Marc Bouchard - Two Minutes Interference) Caps first power play.

3:59: NYI SH GOAL! Cal Clutterbuck gets sprung on a shorthanded breakaway and shoots five-hole on Holtby! Score tied 1-1.

9:53: Coliseum has come to life since Clutterbuck goal.

18:09: NYI GOAL! Holtby can't hang onto the puck and THOMAS VANEK gets a hold of it and buries! 2-1 Islanders.

19:11: WSH goal. The Caps stunn the Islanders with a shorthanded goal with less than a minute to go.
