JT Flow Watch: High and Tight?

by Jesse D. Eisenberg / New York Islanders

The “JT Flow Watch” came to an end yesterday, as John Tavares sheared his reckless brown locks to reclaim his signature high-and-tight look.

In a courageous act of solidarity, linemate Matt Moulson took an inch-and-a-half off of his own flow.

Critics were overheard wondering why the player with the second most points on the team since the All Star Break would make such a drastic change to his look. Rumors are that after riding his flow to a career high in points this season, the scoring phenom became fed-up with his skyrocketing shampoo and conditioner bills, which insiders say exceeded his monthly car payments.

Hoards of teary-eyed fans are already scouring top auction websites in hopes that Tavares’ barber saved the valuable clippings. Barbers and hair salons across Long Island have also reported a rise in unsolicited dumpster-diving by individuals in Islanders jerseys, hoping to harness Tavares’ on and off-ice powers.

Here's one last look at "the flow that was." This shot taken just days before the infamous cut.
