Jr. Islanders Headed to China

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

The New York Islanders are going back to China!

Well, the New York Jr. Islanders.

The Jr. Isles are heading to China from July 13 to the 22nd to play in the Charles B. Wang Project Hope tournament in Qiqihar and the Bauer tournament in Beijing. Islanders Director of Player Development Eric Cairns will coach the Jr. Isles team in China.

This trip continues the Islanders legacy of promoting hockey in China. In the past the Islanders have invested in rinks and have staged tournaments in the region. Now other NHL teams are following the Islanders’ lead and are bringing the game to China.
