1st Star – Anders Nilsson
Nilsson is in the zone between the Sound Tigers pipes and has set a franchise record with nine straight wins. The Swedish goaltender was solid on Saturday stopping 26 shots in a 3-2 win over Adirondack. Nilsson outdid himself on Sunday turning aside 20 shots and all five shootout opportunities in a 2-1 win over Hershey. Monday, Nilsson upped the ante again, making 26 saves for his first North American shutout. His stat line last week: 3W 72 saves 3 goals against 0.960 SV% 1.00 GAA 1 SO 2nd Star – David Ullstrom
With two game-winning goals in his last four games, Ullstrom is making sure that the Bridgeport Sound Tigers do not waste the spectacular goaltending they’ve had of late. Saturday the Swedish forward scored two goals against Adirondack, including the game-winner, and the only regulation goal against Hershey on Sunday. His four-game point streak (4g/1a) ended on Monday, but Ullstrom leads Bridgeport with 19 goals in 31 games this season. 3rd Star – Andrey Pedan
The Russian defenseman had two multi-point games this week as the Guelph Storm went 1-2. Pedan assisted on both Guelph goals in a 4-2 loss to Sarnia on Friday and posted a goal and two assists the next night in a 9-1 pounding of Plymouth. Pedan was held off the score sheet during Monday’s 6-1 loss to Kitchener, but in 50 games has quadrupled his goal total (9) and doubled his assists total (20).
