The Hance Family Foundation was created to honor the memories of Emma, Alyson and Kate Hance who died in a tragic car accident on July 26, 2009. The intention of the foundation is to honor the memories of these extraordinary girls by helping as many children as possible, in as many ways possible. The funds raised by this Foundation will support children’s endeavors, with an emphasis on serving the children of the Village of Floral Park, the Hance’s hometown.
“The Islanders have always been committed to the Long Island community, and are honored to be able to play a role in lending support to such a worthy cause,” said Islanders Manager of Community Relations, Ann Rina. “We hope this is just the beginning of a very fruitful relationship that touches the lives of so many Long Island youth.”
The events of the day will start in the Nassau Coliseum parking lot with music, games, and raffles. The winner of the grand prize for the raffle will receive an Islanders road trip package, which includes the opportunity to travel, lodge and possibly even dine with the team for an away game. They will also have the chance to watch the Islanders’ pregame skate and receive two tickets to the game. Other prizes include a pair of Islander season tickets and an eight-person suite for at an Islanders home game during the 20010-11 season.
