The New York Islanders announced today that forward Micheal Haley and goalie Anders Nilsson have been recalled on emergency loan from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The transactions followed injuries to forward David Ullstrom and goaltender Al Montoya. The club also placed forward Brian Rolston on injured reserve with a concussion earlier today.

Haley, 25, has two goals and two assists in 19 games this season with the Sound Tigers. He’s also appeared in four games with the Islanders this season. A native of Oshawa, ON, Haley played 27 games for the Islanders in 2010-11, scoring two goals and an assist for three points.

Nilsson, 21, leads all Sound Tigers goalies with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage this season. The rookie from Lulea, Sweden, has already appeared in two games with the Islanders in 2011-12. The Islanders selected Nilsson in the third round, 62nd overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The 6’6, 220-pound net-minder posted a 1.92 GAA with a .918 sv% last year during his second professional season with Lulea of the Swedish Elite League.
