Each Monday, newyorkislanders.com will feature three top performances from the deep pool of Islanders prospects.
3. Casey Cizikas -
The Sound Tigers have a new leading scorer after a strong week from Cizikas. The Toronto native scored the game-winning goal against the Worcester Sharks on Monday en route to a 4-0 shutout; Cizikas also had an assist in a 4-2 loss to Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and a goal on Friday as Bridgeport lost a close 3-2 contest to Norfolk. Cizikas has seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points on the season, tops on the Sound Tigers. 2. Anders Lee -
Notre Dame played one game last week, but Lee made the most of it, scoring two goals in a 5-2 win over Boston University. The two-goal effort gives Lee 14 lamp-lighters this season, good enough to lead the CCHA in goals. The big-bodied center is third in points with 22, five behind teammate T.J. Tynan for the overall lead. 1. Ryan Strome -
Strome tore up the World Juniors this past week, scoring three goals and five assists in four games. The Canadian forward dominated his tournament debut with a four-point game (1g/3a) against Finland. He followed it up with a goal and an assist against the Czech Republic, a goal against Denmark and an assist in the rivalry game against the USA. Canada won their first four games and Strome stands second on the team in points, tied with linemate Jonathan Huberdeau, trailing Mark Stone by one.
