Islanders Prospect Report

by Jonathan Velazquez / New York Islanders

Ho-Sang Streaking for Niagara

Joshua Ho-Sang’s 10-game point streak has him in the top-10 of Ontario Hockey League scoring. The Islanders’ prospect tallied a point in both games this weekend for the Niagara IceDogs to keep his streak – the second-longest active streak in the OHL – alive. Ho-Sang kicked off the weekend with an assist on the 6-3 loss to Ottawa on Friday and added goal in the 4-2 win over Oshawa on Saturday. The Toronto, Ontario native has registered at least one point in 16-of-19 games this season for Niagara and leads the team in assists (21) and points (28).

Dal Colle Continues to Shine for Oshawa

Michael Dal Colle pushed his point streak to five games, after picking up three points (1G, 2A) in two games with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League last weekend. The Generals' captain opened the weekend with a two point (1G,1A) performance in the loss to Erie Otters on Friday. Dal Colle registered a goal in Saturday’s loss to the Niagara IceDogs where he notched a team high five shots on goal. Dal Colle has tallied a goal in each of his last five games and the Richmond Hill, Ontario native is now tied for the team lead with 19 points (7G, 12A).

Whitney Leads Streaking Sound Tigers

Bridgeport: 12-4-0, 24 pts., T-1st in Atlantic Division, T-1st in Eastern Conference

Joe Whitney continues to impress for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, posting four assists in his last two games,  extending his point streak to seven games. The Boston, Mass. native currently leads the team with 20 points (5G, 15A) and leads the American Hockey League in assists.

Whitney helped the Sound Tigers sweep the week and move into a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference. Bridgeport started with a 4-3 win over Providence on Wednesday and followed that up with a 5-0 win on Saturday against Hershey. Christopher Gibson made 27 saves for the shutout, Bridgeport’s third clean sheet in four games. The weekend sweep extended the Sound Tigers winning streak to four games.  Bridgeport takes on Rochester on Friday (Nov. 20) for the first time this season.

The Missouri Mavericks posted a weekend sweep over the Wichita Thunder extending their win streak to five. The Mavericks are now 6-0 against the Thunder this season outscoring them 17-6 over that span.

The Mavericks opened the weekend with a 7-2 win on Friday, led by a Colin Markison hat trick. Missouri followed up with a 3-2 win on Saturday.
