The Islanders I.C.E. Tour stopped at Jacob Gunther Elementary School in North Bellmore this morning to be a part of their “Survivor” themed field day. The school was divided into small “tribes” that were based on their grade and their teacher, with each individual class being their own tribe. The tribes were named by the students as each one was introduced and led by a lovely banner that the class had worked on. The students worked together against other tribes in a few different events, such as a tug of war. The Family Fan Fest was part of the event, with the children racing through the obstacle course and testing their shooting ability on the slap shot booth. Sparky and the Ice Girsl also made a visit, helping in the tug of war and hanging out with the children. The kids had a great time on this beautiful day of games and they all walked away with some great Islander prizes.
