The Official Site of the New York Islanders

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

The Islanders made there way into Amityville bright and early on Tuesday to stop at Park Avenue Elementary School for their next stop on the We’re All Islanders school assembly tour.  The children and administration of the school were thrilled to get a special assembly dedicated to them.  Being a school that is sometimes overlooked and in need of some assistance, the Islander presence at the school really brightened a lot of the children’s days.  Isles alum Steve Webb and Eric Cairns, along with their friends Monica the Ice Girl and Sparky were on hand to have some fun with the kids all while conveying the importance of teamwork and the concept of working together despite your differences.  News 12 Long Island was also on hand to tape the assembly.  Everyone in attendance had a great time and each student in attendance received a great Islander gift bag filled with some great prizes!
