With all of the excitement revolving around Big Brown, the horse who will be competing in the Belmont Stakes to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed did it in 1978, the Islanders ICE Tour decided to join the excitement by being a part of the annual Belmont Festival in Garden City. The festival, which ran from 6pm to 9pm took place on Franklin Avenue as the street was filled with a variety of activities, vendors, and fun all in anticipation for the big race tomorrow. The Islanders SUV along with Sparky and the Ice Girls were in the parade that kicked off the festivities as fans of all ages watched from the sidewalk. After the parade, fans were able to make their way to the Islanders Slap Shot Booth, where fans tried their best to go five hole or top shelf. Anyone who stopped by the Islanders set up was able to walk away with some great giveaways. The Islanders would like to wish Big Brown the best of luck in his attempt to become a part of history as one of the most elite race horses of all time!
