After Tropical Storm Hannah soaked the area for most of Saturday, Sunday rolled in with absolutely beautiful weather, just in time for the annual Merrick Street Fair! The street fair was held on Merrick Avenue from as far south as the Merrick train station on Sunrise Highway to as far north as Loines Avenue. The event was filled with music, food and tons of fun. The I.C.E. Tour paid a visit, parking its giant RV along the side of the road, setting up their Xbox 360 for kids as well as the inflatable obstacle course for all the fans to enjoy. More than 1,000 people were at the fair, many of which stopped by the Islanders RV walking away with some great Islanders prizes! Sparky and the Ice Girls walked up and down the street meeting many people and taking pictures with their biggest fans. Sharon from Bellmore described the day best, saying, “It’s a beautiful day out. You couldn’t ask for a better day to hold such a great event. My two sons have been on the Islanders obstacle course a million times already. It’s great to see the Islanders supporting local community events like this.”
