Hockey Fights Cancer Night this Saturday vs. Philadelphia

by Staff Writer / New York Islanders

This Saturday, come out and support your New York Islanders as they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Hockey Fights Cancer night! Throughout the month of October, the Islanders and NHL have been showing their support in the fight against cancer.

The Islanders will wear special HFC themed jerseys during warmups that will be auctioned off to raise money for the battle against cancer. In addition, the coaching staff and management will wear HFC ties. The players will also show their support by using lavender tape on their sticks. We invite you to wear lavender as well in support of HFC.

This special night will commence with a check presentation to Cohen Children’s Medical Center’s Pediatric Oncology Department. In honor of HFC, the Islanders will welcome four very strong people to drop the puck for Saturday’s game: Thomas Napoli, Carissa Crossan, Cody Byrnes and Luke Lang, who are all battling this terrible disease. All of our special guests will meet several members of the team following the game.

Islander fans, wear that lavender proud and come on out and join the fight against cancer!
