Collectible red NYI hat for first 10,000 fans; Tix up to 40% off for Firefighters; Fire trucks, equipment, exhibits and a chili cookoff all part of the event

The New York Islanders will honor the Bravest when they host Firefighters Appreciation Night on Saturday, October 20th. That night, the Islanders will try to “extinguish” the New Jersey Devils at the Nassau Coliseum. Game time is at 7:00 PM, but activities start much earlier as the Islanders salute firefighters across Long Island and New York.

All firefighters attending the game will receive tickets that are up to 40% off box office prices which start at $16. Firefighters can either call 1.800.882.ISLES, ext. 3 to reach the Islanders Group Sales office or purchase tickets day of game at the Nassau Coliseum Box Office. Proper firefighters identification is required.

The finals of the Q104.3 and New York Islanders 1st Annual Firefighter Chili Cook-Off will take place at the Family Fan Fest event on the Coliseum Plaza before the game. The contest will pit the recipes of two local firehouses to see who can cook the best chili.

Also on the Plaza the Islanders have arranged several Long Island Fire Departments to place exhibits which will include various fire trucks and equipment for fans to get a close look at.

At the game, the first 10,000 fans will receive a collectible a red Islanders Firefighters Appreciation Night hat courtesy of Winthrop University Hospital when they enter the Coliseum. The limited edition hat is the second installment of a three-part, hat-themed series.

The Islanders will also partake in several fundraising activities with a portion of the proceeds going to firefighter related charities.
