Rick chosen for NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 27 in Atlanta

The NHL has confirmed what Islanders fans have known for a while.

Rick DiPietro is a National Hockey League All-Star.

DiPietro becomes the first Islanders goaltender to make the All-Star Game since Billy Smith in 1978.

After elected starter Martin Brodeur goes first for the Eastern Conference on Jan. 27 in Atlanta, Rick will handle either the second or third period. He will also be a big part of the revamped Skills Competition on Saturday.

Congratulations, Rick!

DiPietro has just completed a one-on-one interview in Calgary with Islanders TV, sharing his reaction to today’s amazing news with Islanders fans. Check NEWYORKISLANDERS.COM at 12:30 pm for the exclusive!
