Islanders goalie featured in Oct. 10 issue of ESPN THE MAGAZINE

In the current issue of ESPN THE MAGAZINE, Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro is the interviewee for Dan Patrick's back-of-the-booK Outtakes Q & A.

The issue has Danica Patrick and Dwayne Wade on its cover and includes the NHL preview and ESPN's Hot list, but DiPietro's humorous showdown with Patrick is a highlight.

When asked whom he would most like to see in a pair of Daisy Dukes, DiPietro initially answers Angelina Jolie, but then changes his mind to Kate Beckinsale. "I really like Kate Beckinsale," he says.

When asked if he's ever driven a Zamboni, DiPietro says he wants to some day. "I would just love to tear it up and probably end up through the glass at some point. Or I'd put some rims on it and just pimp it out -- drive it right down the Long Island Expressway."

DiPietro talks about joining a bowling league during the lockout (he bought a shirt that said "Big Earn" on it, an homage to the Farrelly Brothers classic "Kingpin.") He also says that if the Islanders don't win the Stanley Cup, he'd much rather the Red Sox win another World Series than the Bruins win a Cup. He reveals which baseball player would make the best NHL defenseman.
