Bossy, Trottier, Morrow and Nystrom take part in exclusive IBC and sponsor event at the NHL Powered by Rbk store in Manhattan

The Allstate Core of the Four celebration, honoring the 17 men who made up the 4-time champion Islanders, is less than three days away.

To get the party started, Core of the Four members Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier, Ken Morrow and Bob Nystrom paid a visit to the NHL Powered by Rbk store on the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan on Thursday afternoon. Sponsors and Islanders Business Club members attended the private event, which included a panel discussion moderated by NHL Radio's EJ Hradek.

Starting at 1 pm, the NHL Powered by Rbk store was packed with local media outlets. Paying a special visit was the Soprano's Joseph Gannascoli, who was conducting interviews for Press Pass TV

"It's great to see so much interest in the Core of the Four weekend," said Bossy. "All of us are really looking forward to being together again and sharing that experience with the fans. Being at the NHL store was a great way to kick things off."

The four alumni were also heard over the air on the NHL's XM channel – 204 – which broadcasts live from the back of the NHL Powered by Rbk store. Hosting the show were Hradek and Don LaGreca. Each Core of the Four member took turns answering questions from the hosts.

The main event – the panel discussion – included sponsors and IBC members, who had the opportunity to not only listen to the former Islanders players tell their stories, but also ask questions regarding their teammates and head coach Al Arbour.

"I still enjoy the heck out of these reunions with all of my former teammates," said Morrow. "I keep thinking that nobody is going to remember us, but they still do."

Trottier, Bossy, Nystrom and Morrow spoke for an hour recounting tales from their Cup-winning days. They spoke vividly of memories 25 years ago as if they were chatting with one another in the locker room. It was a memorable event with stories that those in attendance will not soon forget.

"These events never get old," said Trottier. "I love sitting around and telling stories with three great guys, like Bobby Nystrom, Mike Bossy and Kenney Morrow. We talk about fun stuff and tease each other.

What can be better than sharing stories with hockey fans?"
