Western Hockey League:

(1) Edmonton Oil Kings vs. (8) Prince Albert Raiders - Edmonton Leads Series 2-0

Griffin Reinhart and the Edmonton Oil Kings lead the Prince Albert Raiders two games to none in their WHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinal. The Oil Kings took game one 5-3, with Reinhart assisting on Edmonton’s fifth goal. In game two, the Oil Kings defeated the Raiders 3-1.

(2) Regina Pats vs. (7) Brandon Wheat Kings - Brandon Leads Series 2-0

Ryan Pulock and the seventh-seed Brandon Wheat Kings are up 2-0 in their series against Kyle Burroughs and the second-seed Regina Pats. The Wheat Kings look poised for an upset, as the series shifts back to Brandon for games three and four. Pulock, the Wheat Kings captain and Islanders first-round pick, is leading the charge, having scored four points (two goals, two assists) in the first two games.

Brandon scored at will over the weekend, winning 6-3 in game one and 8-4 in game two. Burroughs was held off the scoresheet, but it’ll take a whole-team effort from the Pats to get back in this series.

Ontario Hockey League:

(1) Guelph Storm vs. (8) Plymouth Whalers Guelph Leads Series 2-0

Victor Crus Rydberg and the Plymouth Whalers trail the Guelph Storm 2-0 in their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference Quarterfinal. The Whalers lost game one 5-2 and were shut out in game two 2-0. Crus Rydberg assisted on both Plymouth goals in game one.

(3) Erie Otters vs. (6) Saginaw Spirit - Erie Leads Series 2-0

Adam Pelech and the Erie Otters survived a weekend scare from Jesse Graham and the Saginaw Spirit to open up a 2-0 series lead. The heavily-favored Otters fought back from two deficits (2-0, 3-2) to win game one 4-3. Pelech, the Islanders third-round pick in 2012, assisted on Dane Fox’s game-winning goal. In game two, the Spirit took the Otters to overtime, but Erie prevailed, as Fox netted his second winner of the series. Pelech potted a goal in the second game, while Graham recorded an assist.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League:

(4) Rimouski Oceanic vs. (13) Chicoutimi Saguenéens - Romouski Leads Series 2-0

Loic Leduc and the Rimouski Oceanic have taken a 2-0 series lead against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. The Oceanic defeated Chicoutimi 5-3 in game one, with Leduc picking up an assist on the opening goal. The Oceanic offense came in waves in game two, defeating Chicoutimi 6-1.
