Kids ages 5-9 can take an 8-week intro-to-hockey course. First-time hockey players receive a full set of free equipment, including skates, with instruction provided by the NYI Hockey Development Team and rink staff.

At each New York Islanders home game this season the Islanders will honor and host an active military member or veteran as part of the Military Hero of the Game. Each military hero receives four (4) VIP tickets to the game and a special in-game recognition.
