RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 5, 2003)
– Emma Bennett, Community Relations Manager for the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the charity event “Skate with the Canes” will take place Sunday, Dec. 21, from 1-3 p.m. at the RBC Center. Tickets for the “Skate with the Canes” will go on sale at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, and will be available at the Dodge Box Office at the RBC Center, The EYE locations at Triangle Town Center and Crabtree Valley Mall, or by calling the Community Relations Department at 919-861-6231.
“Skate with the Canes” will include three sections which allow fans to interact with Hurricanes players in different ways. Patrons and players will rotate between autograph sessions, locker room photographs and skating on the ice at the RBC Center. The rotations will be handled in a way so that all participants in the event will have the opportunity to interact with every Hurricanes player or coach in one of the three sessions. In addition, patrons will have the opportunity to meet Stormy and participate in face painting, bubble hockey, the slap shot booth, a raffle and a silent auction.
Tickets for “Skate with the Canes” are $50 per person and each person two and older attending the event must have a ticket. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Hurricanes’ “Kids ‘N Community Foundation,” which supports various children’s charities and educational programs throughout the Triangle.
