Fans can watch games on RBC Center JumboTrons, enjoy refreshments


RALEIGH, NC – Howard Sadel, Director of Marketing for the Eastern Conference Champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the RBC Center will hold viewing parties for fans to watch all road games of the team’s 2006 Stanley Cup Finals series against the Edmonton Oilers. CanesVision and the Promotions and Fan Development team will aim to create a home-game atmosphere for the viewing parties, and Stormy and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina Storm Squad will join in the fun.

Along with the activities inside the RBC Center during Stanley Cup Finals road games, the front lawn will also be accessible to fans who wish to view the game outside. Concessions will be available on a limited basis both inside the RBC Center and on the front lawn. Fans will also have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets for Hurricanes merchandise and autographed items to be given away throughout the games. All proceeds from the raffle tickets will benefit the Hurricanes’ Kids N’ Community Foundation.

Carolina will travel to Edmonton for Game 3 on Saturday, June 10, and Game 4 on Monday, June 12. If necessary, the teams will meet again in Edmonton for Game 6 on Saturday, June 17. All games of the Stanley Cup Finals begin at 8 p.m. ET. Admission and parking is free for the viewing parties at the RBC Center and doors will open at 7 p.m.

The Stanley Cup Finals will begin tonight, as the Carolina Hurricanes take on the Edmonton Oilers for the oldest and most treasured prize in all North American sports. Carolina scored a 4-2 victory in Thursday’s series-deciding Game 7 at the RBC Center to win their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals series against the Buffalo Sabres and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Some ‘hold’ tickets for tonight’s game are being released throughout the day today, and may be purchased via or the RBC Center box office.

Game 2 will take place on Wednesday before the teams travel to Edmonton for Games 3 and 4. If necessary, Game 5 will take place on Wednesday, June 14 at the RBC Center and a potential Game 7 would take place on Monday, June 19.
