Promotions: Register Now for Hurricanes U

by Jon Chase / Carolina Hurricanes

There is still time left to sign up for our Hurricanes University Graduate Program.  By attending this world-renowned university, students meet a player, see the Canes locker room, skate on the RBC Center ice and (here is the clincher) hit the Carolina Hurricanes goal horn! (Ric Flair not included)

The Hurricanes U graduate course examines how the Hurricanes teams of past and present were built.  The classroom session, taught by Assistant General Manager Jason Karmanos, looks at all areas involved with building a team, including the salary cap, free agency, trades, scouting, drafts and many other components of the collective bargaining agreement. It is a rare opportunity to gain access to the assistant GM, hear it straight from the source and have an opportunity to ask questions as well.

Other aspects include an on-ice session led by color analyst Tripp Tracy and Youth and Amateur Hockey Coordinator Paul Strand, a visit by a Canes player, a tour of press row, time in the Canes locker room and either breaking down video footage in the Canes locker room or a behind the scenes look at the team’s fitness regime led by a member of the Canes training staff that includes a weight room tour, workout routines, injury prevention, etc. (based on staff availability).

When it is all said and done, attendees will graduate on-ice before the Canes/Bruins game on March 16. And yes, we get you all decked out in a hat, robe, tassel, etc.!

While I can go on and on, it is said best via testimonials from former graduates or by watching the recent video by CanesVision above (this video is from the Hurricanes U-101 class, but it gives you a feel for some of the access granted to those in the class).  Also, no worries if you have not been to 101, you are still welcome and encouraged to attend!

Now to wrap it up, I will use my best infomercial pitchman voice (via words in a blog) to make the sale…. This can all be yours for ONLY $400…Wait! I am slashing prices and will offer it for $300…all right if you email me in the next five minutes this class is available for $135.  Ok, ok, the price has always been $135, but it is a great deal as it includes a lower level ticket, two classes, t-shirt, gift bag, a wealth of knowledge, etc.  Sign up today!

Have a great day!
