Carolina (5-4-3) at Detroit (7-3-2) 7:30 pm EST
DETROIT (Ticker) -- The Detroit Red Wings look to snap a three-game winless streak tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes, who hope to rebound from their worst loss of the season.
Detroit is coming off Wednesday's 1-1 tie against the high-flying Los Angeles Kings and has gone 0-2-1 in its last three games following a five-game winning streak. After dropping a 4-2 decision to Chicago on October 29, the Wings earned a point for a 5-4 overtime loss at St. Louis on Saturday.
Center Steve Yzerman has scored in two straight games, giving him 595 career goals. The Red Wings are in first place in the Central Division, three points ahead of the St. Louis Blues.
Carolina is coming off Wednesday's 6-0 loss to Toronto, its second straight defeat at the new Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena. The Hurricanes suffered their first shutout of the season after being blanked six times last year.
The Hurricanes have excelled on the road, going 5-2-3 and trail first-place Florida by three points in the Southeast Division. Carolina has played its first nine games on the road while waiting to move into its new home.
The Hurricanes posted a 3-2 victory at Pittsburgh in their last road contest on October 23.
Carolina has split two meetings against the Red Wings last season, posting a 3-0 victory on December 12 and suffering a 4-1 loss in Detroit on January 21.
