Carolina Hurricanes defenseman an NHL YoungStar David Tanabe and Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jamie Storr led 30 Nikkei youngsters in the NHL Nikkei Kids Clinic at NHL All-Star FANtasy at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Jan. 31. The clinic, hosted by the NHL Diversity Task Force, celebrated hockey's growing diversity and fan base within the Japanese community. Both Storr and Tanabe had the opportunity to share their love of hockey with children of their same Japanese heritage.
The clinic was part of NHL All-Star FANtasy presented by Nextel is the week-longhockey celebration at the Los Angeles Convention Center ushering in the 52nd NHL All-Star Game at STAPLES Center on Feb. 2. NHL All-Star FANtasy was open to the public Jan. 30-Feb. 2 and included more than 25 attractions, virtual reality games and entertainment for fans of all ages.
