EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS OPEN THURSDAY AT 7 P.M.
RALEIGH, NC (May 14, 2002) – The Southeast Division champion Carolina Hurricanes will take on the winner of the Ottawa-Toronto series in the Eastern Conference Finals beginning with Game 1 on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. The series is a best-of-seven. The Hurricanes defeated the Montreal Canadiens in six games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to advance to the Conference Final. Toronto and Ottawa face-off tonight in a deciding Game 7.
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals will be played on Sunday, May 19 at 4 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. Carolina’s opponent will host Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m.
Game 5, if necessary, would be played at the Entertainment & Sports Arena on Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m. Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 at the home of Carolina’s opponent at 7 p.m. Game 7 would be played Thursday, May 30 at 7 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena.

All seven games will be televised nationally in the United States on ESPN and in Canada on CBC (English) and SRC (French).
