Press Release: HURRICANES ANNOUNCE SECOND ROUND PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

HURRICANES TO TAKE ON MONTREAL IN BEST-OF-SEVEN

RALEIGH, NC (April 30, 2002) – The Southeast Division champion Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Montreal Canadiens in an Eastern Conference Semifinal series beginning with Game 1 on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. The series is a best-of-seven. The Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils in six games in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to advance to the Conference Semifinals

Game 2 will be played on Sunday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. The teams will play Games 3 and 4 at the Molson Centre in Montreal on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m.

Game 5, if necessary, would be played at the Entertainment & Sports Arena on Sunday, May 12 at 2 p.m. Game 6 is scheduled for the Molson Centre on Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. Game 7 would be held Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. Tickets for all Hurricanes home games are available at the arena box office and all Ticketmaster locations: (919) 834-4000 in Raleigh/Durham, (336) 852-1100 in the Triad and (910) 223-2900 in Fayetteville. Tickets can be ordered on-line by visiting the Carolina Hurricanes’ official website at www.CarolinaHurricanes.com. The box office has extended hours of 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday. The box office will open at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 5 prior to Game 2. Ticket prices for the second round range from $25-$140.

The National Hockey League has yet to release a television schedule for the series.
