Press Release: HURRICANES ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP WITH TIME WARNER CABLE

RALEIGH, NC (Oct. 3, 2001) - The Carolina Hurricanes and Time Warner Cable’s Raleigh Division announce a weekly television show, “Carolina Hurricanes on CNN/SI”, a half-hour program which will begin October 9 at 6:30 p.m. and run for 27 Tuesday nights during the season.

The show will be taped at the Entertainment & Sports Arena and produced and edited by CanesVision, the Hurricanes’ production company, and Time Warner Cable. John Forslund, the television play-by-play voice of the Hurricanes, and Tripp Tracy, the television color analyst, are the show’s hosts.

The show will feature five segments each week. The segments will be: Coach’s Corner - John Forslund speaks with Carolina coach Paul Maurice; Side Tripp - Tripp Tracy interviews Carolina Hurricanes players and other players from around the NHL; Play by the Rules - A look at hockey rules and terminology, as well as notable plays from the previous week; NHL Report - News from around the NHL, including trades, injuries and highlights; Highlights - Highlights and commentary on the previous week’s Hurricanes games.

The show will be seen on Time Warner Cable Channel 47 in the Central and Eastern Districts, which cover the Triangle, Goldsboro, Wilson and Henderson areas, and Channel 46 in the Southern District, which covers Fayetteville, Southern Pines and Lumberton.
