PRESIDENT BUSH HOSTS CHAMPION 'CANES AND STANLEY CUP

NEW YORK (Jan. 31, 2007) – President George W. Bush will honor the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes during a ceremony in the East Room of The White House on Friday, Feb. 2 at 2:30 p.m., ET.
Members of the 2006 Hurricanes, led by team captain Rod Brind’Amour, will gather at The White House at approximately 1:15 p.m. National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman, Hurricanes Owner Peter Karmanos Jr., Hurricanes President and General Manager Jim Rutherford, and Carolina Head Coach Peter Laviolette also will attend.
