The Ottawa Senators hope to move back into sole possession of first place in the Northeast Division tonight when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. The Senators are tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the most points in the Eastern Conference and have won eight of their last 11 contests.

Center Radek Bonk recorded his first career four-point game with two goals and two asssists in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Bonk has struggled throughout much of his five-year NHL tenure. But he has blossomed this season in the absence of suspended Alexei Yashin, scoring nine goals and leading the Senators with 22 points in 18 games.

Carolina snapped a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in six games with a 4-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The Hurricanes scored a pair of power-play goals to improve to 2-3-0 at home this season.

Right wing Sami Kapanen leads the Hurricanes in scoring with nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points and also had plus-minus rating of plus-10. However, he has not registered a goal in Carolina's last four contests.

These teams split four meetings last season, with the Hurricanes managing a pair of ties at home. The Hartford/Carolina franchise is 14-1-2 all-time at home against the Senators.
