Limited number of tickets held back for fans who commit to full-season or 24-game plans
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 12, 2006
RALEIGH, NC – Kyle Prairie, Director of Ticket Sales for the 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the allotment of remaining individual tickets for the Hurricanes season opener against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 4 have been sold out. A small number of seats have been reserved for fans who commit to full-season or 24-game plans prior to Oct. 4, as the game is included in those plans. Tickets still remain for “Opening Night 2” on Friday, Oct. 6 against the New Jersey Devils, and will be available to the general public beginning Saturday, Sept. 16 at noon, when all individual game tickets for October and November become available.
The Hurricanes begin their defense of the Stanley Cup at the RBC Center on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m., against the Buffalo Sabres, the team’s opponent in the 2006 Eastern Conference Finals. Because of the dramatic increase in full-season ticket and 24-game plan sales, the number of Opening Night tickets was very limited. Season ticket holders have the right to buy additional tickets before they go on sale to the general public, and the remaining supply of seats to the opener were sold out in that manner. Fans who are interested in ticket packages that include Opening Night are encouraged to call 1-866-NHL-CANES for information.
Individual-game tickets for all other Hurricanes home games in October and November can be purchased at the RBC Center box office, all TicketMaster locations, by calling 919-834-4000 or via www.CarolinaHurricanes.com after noon on Saturday, Sept. 16.
