Forwards Jussi Jokinen
and Tim Wallace
have been placed on waivers, Hurricanes management confirmed on Tuesday.
The other 29 teams in the NHL have until noon on Wednesday to claim either forward.
Jokinen has posted 10 points (5g, 5a) in 30 games with the Hurricanes. In total, he’s logged 285 games and 184 points (67g, 117a) with Carolina since joining the team on Feb. 9, 2009.
Wallace has skated in 21 games with the Canes this season, recording a goal and 17 penalty minutes.
Wallace, who signed a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on July 19, 2012, has cleared waivers already once this season when the Canes assigned him to Charlotte on Jan. 18 after a week-long training camp.
Jokinen is in the second year of a three-year contract, worth $3 million per year. He is due to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2014.
