RALEIGH, NC—Jon Chase, Director of Community Relations and Promotions for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team will host the first-ever “Caniac Cookout” on Thursday, April 8, prior to the team’s final home game. The lunchtime event will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the South Lawn between the RBC Center and Carter-Finley Stadium and is part of the Hurricanes’ Fan Appreciation Week festivities.
All Hurricanes fans are invited to this weather-permitting event, which is highlighted by an autograph session with Hurricanes Tim Gleason, Alexandre Picard and Tuomo Ruutu. Fans may also enter to win prize giveaways, as well as enjoy an inflatable obstacle course, a Hurricanes moon bounce, street hockey and the slap shot booth on the RBC Center’s front lawn. Discounted food available will include $3 burgers, $2 hot dogs and $4 barbecue sandwiches. Stormy will be in attendance, and the autograph session with Gleason, Picard and Ruutu will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
