Blueliner Returns From AHL Conditioning Stint

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 11, 2004) – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Bruno St. Jacques (SAINT ZHAWK) from Lowell of the American Hockey League. St. Jacques was reassigned to Lowell on a conditioning stint on Jan. 1 after missing 14 Hurricanes games with an abdominal strain.

St. Jacques, 23, played in six Lock Monsters games and accumulated eight penalty minutes during his conditioning stint. In 13 Hurricanes games this season, the Montreal, Que., native has notched one assist and accumulated six penalty minutes. St. Jacques missed one game with a shoulder injury, and has been a healthy extra for Carolina nine times.
