RALEIGH, NC – Pending the ratification of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement by the National Hockey League Board of Governors, the Carolina Hurricanes will be hosting all media for a series of events Friday, culminating with a team news conference at 8 p.m. in the Club Restaurant of the RBC Center.

The Board of Governors will meet in New York on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers. At approximately 3 p.m., NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will conduct a news conference in the Riverside Suite on the third floor of the hotel. Local Carolina media are invited to view the news conference in the Media Room on the Arena level of the RBC Center at 3 p.m. In addition, local media are invited to stay to watch television coverage of the 2005 NHL Draft Drawing following Bettman’s press conference. Fox Sports South will broadcast both NHL events live.

The Hurricanes will host their own news conference to review the day’s events and announce plans going forward at 8 p.m. in the Club Restaurant on the second floor of the RBC Center, following the arrival of Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos and President and General Manager Jim Rutherford from New York. Vice President of Business Operations Matt West and Hurricanes player representative Kevyn Adams will also be available at the press conference. Should Mr. Karmanos’ plane from New York be delayed for any reason, the Hurricanes media relations staff will alert all media to any delays as quickly as possible.

WRAL News Channel will show tonight's Hurricanes news conference live at 8 p.m. from the RBC Center. WRAL News Channel is available on Time Warner Digital Cable, channel 256.
