Holiday party entertains 100 students from Wake County RALEIGH, N.C. (Dec. 1, 2004)
â€“ The Carolina Hurricanes today announced a holiday party for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Wake County on Dec. 3 at the RBC Center. From 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., 100 middle and high school students will enjoy skating, the Hurricanesâ€™ slap shot inflatable and a visit from Stormy. Holiday arts and crafts will be offered and refreshments will be served.
Funding from the Carolina Hurricanesâ€™ Kids N' Community Foundation has enabled the Boys and Girls Clubs to provide 3,257 youths ages 6 to 18 in Wake County, a health and fitness program known as Fitness Authority. Fitness Authority is a comprehensive recreational program for young people encouraging a strong body and a strong mind.
â€œWe are thrilled to continue our strong partnership with the Carolina Hurricanes and to be a part of this unique opportunity,â€? said April Anthony, Vice President of Resource Development for the Boys and Girls Clubs. "Our children are very excited to be able to skate on the Hurricanesâ€™ home ice.â€?
