Plans available in 24-or 10-game packages

RALEIGH, N.C. (July 23, 2004) – Matt West, Vice President of Business Operations for the National Hockey League Carolina Hurricanes, today presented the team’s mini-season ticket plan options for the 2004-05 season. Partial season ticket holders can opt for a 24-game plan or choose between three different 10-game packs.

“A mini-season ticket plan is a great opportunity for fans to gain many of the benefits of a full-season ticket holder including saving money off of the normal gate price,” said West. “Many of our most popular match-ups are featured in this year’s plans, which almost exclusively focus on weekend games.”

The 24-game plan covers more than half of the Hurricanes’ regular-season games at the RBC Center including opening night against the Atlanta Thrashers, the New Year’s Eve match-up against the New York Islanders and the final home game of the season on April 10 against the Florida Panthers. The plan also includes a pair of games against the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning and games against many of the NHL’s top draws, including the Colorado Avalanche, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers and the Western Conference Champion Calgary Flames. Of the 24 games in the package, 23 take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. All 24-game plan holders will be able to select their specific seats for the package.

The Hurricanes are offering three different 10-game packs from which fans can choose their favorite option. The Caniac White Pack features seven weekend games, including a Halloween afternoon matinee against the Chicago Blackhawks, a Saturday-night showdown with Tampa Bay, and the season finale against the Florida Panthers. The Caniac Red Pack includes games against power teams from both conferences such as Colorado and Calgary from the Western Conference and Toronto, Philadelphia and New Jersey from the Eastern Conference. Eight of the 10 games in the Caniac Black Pack take place on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Black Pack is also the only 10-game plan that also includes opening night against Atlanta and the New Year’s Eve game against the New York Islanders.

Mini-season ticket plans provide fans with many of the same advantages of full-season ticket plans, including a discount off the gate ticket price, the chance to purchase game tickets before they go on sale to the general public and priority status for ticket packages for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. New for this season, mini-plan holders also have access to the Ticket Exchange Program, which allows fans to exchange unused plan tickets on one of the team’s pre-selected exchange game nights. Mini-plan holders will also receive a special annual gift from the team, be able to keep the same seat for all of their mini-plan games and have the opportunity to purchase additional single-game tickets at the gate price to avoid service charges. Seat availability for the plans will be limited, with top seat locations reserved for full-season ticket plans and more prime seat locations reserved for the 24-game plans.

Fans who choose the 24-game package will earn additional benefits, including playoff priority for their exact seat location, the ability to purchase a premier parking booklet and a 10 percent discount on merchandise at The Eye, the official team store.
