Center has missed the team’s last seven games with distorted vision
RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated center Matt Cullen from injured reserve. Cullen has missed the Hurricanes’ last seven games with distorted vision.
Despite playing in just 44 of the team’s 60 games this season, Cullen, 31, ranks third among all Carolina skaters with 30 assists, tied for third with 12 power-play assists, and fourth with 17 power-play points and 39 points. The Virginia, MN, native has missed 16 of the Hurricanes’ last 22 games after sustaining an open-ice hit on Dec. 26 from New York Rangers forward Colton Orr in the teams’ game at Madison Square Garden.
