As the Canes get ready to take the ice for day five of Training Camp ’09, just one day before we see game action at the RBC Center for the first time since May, I thought we could have a little fun with the end of “summer vacation.” A friend passed along this terrific shot of Hurricanes season ticket holder Bill Studabaker, taken in Rift Valley, Kenya. I’m pretty sure that’s the first time I’ve seen someone in a Hurricanes sweater, standing near a zebra in its natural habitat.
The picture made me wonder where else folks wore their Caniac pride this off-season, so I thought I would open that question up for submissions. If you have a great photo of you or a family member wearing your Hurricanes gear on vacation this summer, please feel free to send it to me at email@example.com
. I’ll post the best ones on this blog, and perhaps we’ll put the top submissions to a vote. The winner will get my own two tickets for the Hurricanes-Panthers game on Friday, Oct. 9.As far as the actual “work” of camp, things are flowing along quite smoothly so far, and we’re all pretty fired up for live game action Friday night on
Edwards Mill Road (not to mention the first chance we’ll get to see that beautiful new videoboard in action.)
