Matt Cullen’s lower-body injury is somewhat worse than originally thought and will keep him out of the lineup for at least the next two games, Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice said today.
Cullen suffered the injury on Friday against the New York Islanders and attempted to play the following night against Washington, but was limited to just 8:14 of ice time. He missed the team’s game against Florida on Monday night, with Jussi Jokinen stepping into his place centering the second line.
There was some good news on the injury front, as Maurice said that Scott Walker has a chance to return on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. Walker was one of a small group of players who took the ice at today’s limited practice.
