Canes to Ring in the New Year Against Isles Tonight

Post-game party features live music, party favors, champagne toast and midnight “puck” drop

RALEIGH, NC— Curt Johnson, Director of Marketing for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the details for tonight’s festivities surrounding the Carolina Hurricanes annual New Year’s Eve game and party. The Hurricanes will face-off against the New York Islanders tonight at the RBC Center at 8 p.m. Great seats are still available for tonight’s game and festivities.

Following tonight’s game, all fans in attendance are invited to stick around and celebrate the arrival of 2008 at the RBC Center. The first 1,000 fans in attendance at the post-game party in the Arena Club Restaurant will receive party favors and a complimentary champagne toast. Rubberband will perform live at the party, featuring an eclectic mix of R&B, Soul, Funk, Rock, Disco, Reggae and Hip Hop music delivered with unique edge, attitude and energy. Fans will be able to count down the seconds until midnight and the end of 2007 with the drop of a massive Hurricanes puck from the center ice JumboTron.
