Canes Recall John Muse from Charlotte

This marks the first NHL recall for the 24-year-old Muse, who is in his second full professional season. The East Falmouth, MA, native has posted a 6-6-0 record and a 3.48 goals-against average in 13 games with Charlotte this season. He was recalled to Charlotte from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL on Jan. 12. He was 9-8-4 with a 3.66 goals-against average in 21 games with the Everblades prior to joining the Checkers.
In 2011-12, Muse (5’11”, 185 lbs.) backstopped the Florida Everblades to the ECHL Kelly Cup championship, posting an 11-2 record, a 1.78 goals-against average and a .939 save percentages in 13 postseason appearances. He posted a 10-3-3 record, 1.81 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage in 15 regular-season games with Charlotte last season, as well as a 16-6-3 record, 2.42 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage in 25 regular-season ECHL games with Florida. Muse won two NCAA championships (2008, 2010), three Hockey East Tournament titles (2008, 2010, 2011) and three Beanpot championships (2008, 2010, 2011) during his four-year collegiate career at Boston College. The Hurricanes signed Muse as a free agent on June 7, 2012.
