RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated forward Chad LaRose from injured reserve. Rutherford also announced that the team has reassigned left wing Drayson Bowman to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
LaRose, 27, returns to the Hurricanes’ lineup after missing the team’s last 17 games (12/11-1/16) with a lower-body injury. Prior to being placed on injured reserve, the Fraser, MI, native, scored one goal and earned five assists (6 points) in 28 games, and ranked second among Carolina skaters in shots on goal. In 2008-09, LaRose (5’10”, 181 lbs.) posted career highs in games played (81), goals (19) and points (31), and signed a new two-year contract with the Hurricanes in the offseason. Carolina originally acquired LaRose as an undrafted free agent in August 2003, following his final year of junior hockey.
